Been really busy and so i haven't posted in a while. The album came back to me in the post from my Mastering Engineer, and its sounding great. As you all may know, the album is out on the 1st July, and so i have set up the shop via 'Paypal', so those of you who would like to Pre-Order a copy can do via the 'Paypal' link on the right of the page >>>>>>>>

Here we are, at last, we are finally mixed away and ready to go. Yes, thats right, the album has finally been mixed, which im very pleased about. The next stages are to get it sent off to a Mastering Engineer who will work his magic on a bit of shiny plastic that will eventually be posted back to me ready for duplication and printing. Which will be about another week or so.

So here we are, we now have a decided release date, here it is everyone;

A mail order service will be set up on here via pay-pal for those of you who want to buy a copy online. A few will be in shops in Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Birmingham and London, for those of you who want to go out and buy a copy. iTunes will also be hosting the album, i'm not sure wether it will be the 1st July 08 or not, but i know it will be sometime soon or after that, i will keep everyone posted about iTunes and what's happening.

My good touring friend, Brett Sinclair has a few bits and pieces of new material as well, so also in the next few week were gonna go out gigging again, so look out for more dates, we may be appearing near you. Which means more driving on the M1, M25, M62, A52, A46 and most importantly the A1. Talking of the A1, i were a bit nostalgic a few days back, i had heard from a local newspaper that a fast food restaurant, we used to go to as a family, when i were younger, had been demolished. It was in the shape of a 'flying saucer' and all the staff were dressed in spaceship uniforms. Oh how i had a good childhood :D

Sleepy Sleepy Sleep

Oh My Days. Am i tired from this weekend or what!, Once again another mad/work frenzy weekend, and i am ready for about two days worth of sleep, its going to be amazing i tell you.

So things are on track , as July gets closer, time gets thinner and seems like everything is closing in on me, but still seems ages away, which is what i keep on thinking, to stop me from stressing. Things seem nearly done its all the loose ends that i need to tie up now, heres the low down on my little white board list of things to conquer through;

1. Home; needs acoustic guitar recording
2. True; needs vocals and backing female vocals recording
3. New; vocal parts need re-recording
4. More guitar needs to be added all over the album
5. Whole album needs extra bits and sounds, here and there
6. Extensive mixing of each track on the album
7. Tracks cutting, fading in/out's and links need 'gluing' together to make album continuous play
8. Send album off to Mastering Engineer

This should keep me pretty busy for the next two weeks or so, it seems like a lot but now most of the production work is out of the way we can concentrate a lot more on the post-production. Which means me being even more tired at some points, but it all works well, adapting my own behavior, rubs off on the tracks, which in theory should be a good thing :S.

Other news is, album cover is done, Good Times! Im pleased with the work thats been done on it for me, especially the incorporation of some of my photos which are quite hidden, but express meanings that are on the record. For all of you that want to see it, here it is;

The inlay on the other sides is only just being finished off, should be ready in the next few days, which i am pleased about.

On Track Tracking

The weekend comes along, and my head fills up, full of ideas. Due to this, the last track has now been tracked, which im pretty pleased about. It rounds up the whole record and interlinks all the difference in styles together there for me having to call it 'Inter', works pretty well i think. Now we have an update to the track listing, and so it goes something like this;

Which gives a good shape to this record and looking at it now, i cant wait for it to be finally finished, im looking forward to the end product.
Over the past few days ive been editing the myspace page very, very, very slowly, and with a few new photos been taken, including some studio photos of instruments and experimentation, here are just a few;

As you can see from some of these photos, ive been experimenting with my Recorder which i hadn't played since i was 9 or something, so picking it up again took me a while, and a harmonica, which was fun to mess around with.

Closer we also get to an album cover as well, i bought some parcel paper the other day to send a few cd's out, and i thought, wouldn't this be good for an album cover background and with that, i was pretty much decided on the rough, brown paper for the background of the cover. All i need now is to think of some graphics ideas to go on top of it, and a new graphics designer, Good Times :D.

As for dates of the album, End of July is the estimated time for the release i believe, i will update you lot on a date when i get one. Although this is mainly down to iTunes, and them not recognizing my small indie label as a label, this should be sorted within the next few days, and then it will be on iTunes for everyone to purchase.

So yeah, over the past two weeks, been ill, not bothered to do anything, and sat on the sofa for most of the time, watching daytime tv programs like 'Loose Women' and 'Jeremy Kyle'. Not very productive i must say, but at least some things have been done. A few more tracks have been wrote, including a track that is a comparison between old/new, and its about a person you did know, then they moved away, you met up with them again, and they are a totally different person, like you never knew them. A track has been mixed where it sounds like you are in a coffin in a church, pretty spooky, but realistic. So progress has been made. Even more vocals have been recorded and more experimentation has started, which is interesting.

As for the way the album is going to pan out, i finally have a track listing, with full names, here it is;

New Look

Well i have started on a new look on the blog, as i mean to post on it regularly instead of every few months, which is utter lame! So i have started off with the new banner a few other items will be added to it soon as well.

Earlier today i went out and bought some drum samples from Death Cab For Cutie's drummer Jason McGerr, for Reason. So ive been messing around with those today, seeing if i can get anything from them for this new record. Would be awesome to include some if i can get them into a track.

Other than that, not much progress has been made really, i started to work on a track called 'True', which is a track about people being bitter and cold, and the way they see everything is exactly the same, no value in life. I have various piano, drums and bass recorded for this song, although I'm not sure i will be including it on the album, it just doesn't stick with the style that i have progressed throughout the whole album, but its close, so it may become a easy B-Side. Still considering ideas for the album cover, still haven't come up with a solid plan, ill let you know, but for now, i must sleep.

Still Working

Hello All. Once again i keep meaning to post on this thing more, but for some reason it seems to get left behind quite a bit. Well just to let you know, i am still on the recording stages of this new record. Probably about halfway through the recording stages now, which is awesome, because now i can start to experiment. Been trying to include Binaural (Holophonic) sections on some of the tracks, so for the lucky ones that use headphone can hear a few extras.
A few more tracks have been added to the album, being as i were flowing with ideas when i started to record it, which is excellent. But recently ive been taking a break from recording as i believe i could add more into it, im just not sure what yet though, i suppose thats why i am experimenting. Bit of writers block if you ask me. Earlier this week i decided to nab a home build headphone amp called The Vic Mix. Making loop delays, using a lot of cables was cool, caused a health hazard though.
For the album cover, ive been trying to get a set in stone cover, being as ive decided to scrap the one i used below. I was thinking something between a Victorian wallpaper theme, cross with eco friendly materials, but we'll have to see.

Album + Extras.

As some of you may or may not know, i have started work on my second record. The record will be titled 'Lie', including 5 brand new tracks as a full band. Most of the inspiration for this record came from one of my favorite bands called 'Amusement Parks on Fire', crossing with other bands, 'Sigur Ros', 'Thursday', 'Idiot Pilot', 'Jesu', 'Rosetta', 'Leo Sayer', 'Pelican', 'Russian Circles' and too many more artists to name. The album will once again feature session musicians, as well as female vocals, from a local artist, which is a friend of mine.

Work has already started on recording the album, and two of the tracks have been recorded already. The album this time is recorded from back to front, last track recorded first. Once again it will be a continuous record, with all the tracks merging into one another. I cant really say much else about the album as its a massive step from the first album and i want it to be a surprise to everybody. But heres a little preview of what the cover will be:

I went on a small Midlands + North tour of the UK with a good friend of mine, who is also a solo musician, his name is Brett Sinclair. Id like to say thanks to all of these people who were at the shows in 2007. Some of the places we played were; Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Huddersfield, Manchester, Mansfield and many more. This tour will continue into 2008, making it into a complete UK tour, next month we will be at cities; Newcastle, Bristol and Derby. We look forward to meeting new people and playing a whole range of new songs, which i am dying to trial out.
